Edged by the meandering Mississippi River, St. Louis is defined by its landmark Gateway Arch, but home also to cultural sights, river-based attractions and the Anheuser-Busch headquarters there's no cause for boredom nor thirst on a good city tour.
Lake Oroville is a man-made lake formed upon the completion of country's tallest earthen dam. Summer brings out houseboaters and water sports enthusiasts en masse, but this lake is also an angling hot spot. Catfish, spotted bass, rainbow trout and chinook salmon abound, but Lake Oroville is large and not known for its crowds so you're likely to have plenty of uninterrupted recreation opportunities.
