Start of the trail for wagons bound west and hometown of President Truman, Independence, Missouri, is well-endowed with historic attractions including covered wagon tours through the old part of town.
The Colorado begins to settle down after its tumultuous descent out of the high Rockies, and winds through beautiful mountain canyons and sandstone cliffs. That's not to say there's no excitement, however: some trips on this stretch contain rapids with names like "Pin Ball," "Rodeo" and "Needle's Eye."
These rapids are more exciting than dangerous, however, with the best of them rated Class III. Views of the Gore Mountain Range and Flat Tops Wilderness are striking from this region.
Raft outfitters offer trips ranging from half-day to multi-day excursions on this beautiful stretch of the Colorado.
We offer a compact version of Go-Missouri for mobile users, allowing you to access just the information you need on the road. Of course, you can still use the full version of Go-Missouri on your mobile device just as you can on your desktop.
