It is situated on the east bank of the Current River. Float Camp is the most popular site on the district. Designed to accommodate 155 people. Often more than 300 people will be using the picnic grounds and beach, especially on the really hot weekends. Area is handicap accessible. Facilities include; covered picnic tables, fire grills, vault toilets, trash cans, playground and swimming beach.

This is a large, open campground, with little screening between campsites. There's not much solitude or privacy, but you'll have a good opportunity to socialize with adjacent campers.

Picnic Area: A pavilion for daily rental: $34.00 through ReserveUSA.com or by calling 877-444-6777. Open April 30 thru October 11. Several individual picnic sites provide a table and grill for picnicking under a shade tree. Day use fee is $2 per standard vehicle; buses are $10. Season pass $20.

Boating, canoeing, tubing: Hot summer days attract hundreds of weekend floaters. CAUTION! Current River is swift and has many snags that must be avoided. Wear life jackets! Swift current near Float Camp may be hazardous! No lifeguard on duty.

Fishing: Wade, bank and boat fishing permitted.

Hiking:Woodchuck Trail is a half mile long trail connecting Float Camp Picnic Area with the campground. White Oak Trail is a 1.5-mile loop trail originating at the Float Camp Picnic Area''s parking lot.
